With our partners at the DC Workforce Investment Council we hosted a panel discussion featuring DCPS Chancellor Wilson, Swiss Ambassador to the US Dahinden, New York State Deputy Commissioner Infante, Delaware Department of Education official Fulton-Archer and Ms. Liao from New American Economy to discuss innovative policies and legislation to narrow the achievement gap and prepare DC residents to excel in a global 21st century workplace.
Here are some of the presentations:
Purposeful Preparation of a Globally Competitive Workforce by Lynn Fulton-Archer
The panel moderated by Kavitha Cardoza, Education Week and PBS News Hour Correspondent discussed how education policies and economic development initiatives can benefit DC residents more equitably and how the District can take stock of the DC Region’s demographic shift and leverage the opportunities it presents.
The video of the entire panel discussion will be available through the DC Office of Cable and Television momentarily.
The discussion was co-sponsored by American Councils on International Education, Quebec Government Office in Washington, Rosetta Stone Education and Confucius Institute George Washington University. Venue was graciously provided by Perkins Eastman and refreshment was kindly offered by DCPS Language Acquisition Division.
