The District is poised to lead the nation with the creation of a state-level Office of Multilingual Education housed within the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, and tasked with setting a vision for multilingual education for ALL students across all sectors. In conjunction with its leadership in cutting-edge early childhood programs, DC stands to shine by making multilingual education part of its educational policy.
We look forward to supporting the implementation of this new important step for the District, to enrich the education and lifetime opportunities for students across the city.
