Over 1200 Registered to attend Multilingual Fair

Washington, DC – DC Language Immersion Project will host the third edition of this free event this Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 10am to 2pm. Over 1200 pre-registered.

Gallaudet University President Roberta J. Cordano said “We are delighted to partner with the DC Language Immersion Project and to welcome 1,200 parents, students, educators and employers in the D.C. region who have a strong interest in multilingual education. We celebrate our shared value and Gallaudet is pleased to have an active role in co-creating that future.”

“We have exceeded all expectations.” said Vanessa Bertelli, executive director of the DC Language Immersion Project “This is a testament to the value people see in multilingualism.”

Supported by Rosetta Stone Education, Qatar Foundation International and Center for Applied Linguistics, the 2019 Multilingual Education Fair of DC features 100 exhibitors across 17 languages and a fun program for language learners of all ages and abilities. See program below.

Resources include books, apps, language classes, cultural institutes and study abroad programs. Bilingual education schools from across the DC region will participate. Job recruiters ranging from the intelligence community to the financial industry will attend.

The event is free and open to all. Metro accessible, ample parking. Interpretation available in spoken and sign languages. Multicultural food trucks on site.

Co-sponsored by the DC Deputy Mayor for Education, Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs, Mayor’s Office on African Affairs, Mayor’s Office on Asian Pacific Islander Affairs, Office of the State Superintendent on Education, DC Public Schools, DC Public Charter School Board, and DC State Board of Education.
